Holly Varnell, FACHE

Holly, as the Co-Founder & CEO of DREAM BIG™ Health,  is a prominent figure in the healthcare industry, revered for her contributions over two decades in the domain of value-based care & healthcare innovation. She is not only driving the wheel of technological advancement but is also reshaping the healthcare landscape for future generations.

Her collaboration with organizations like the Joint Commission, CDC, & USPTF exemplifies her unwavering commitment to advocate healthcare reform & promote equitable medicine globally.

Holly's journey includes the creation of pioneering digital tools that have set new industry benchmarks. Her Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications, a first of their kind in the industry, is testament to her ability to innovate & disrupt.

Having amassed a wealth of knowledge equivalent to a doctorate in areas like value innovation & health informatics, Holly blends her expertise, creativity, and unique insights to drive strategic directions in the most impactful ways.

Darron Segall, MHS

Darron, as Co-Founder & CSO of DREAM BIG™ Health, is an accomplished market access expert & leader with over  two decades of experience in reimbursement, health economics, payer/employer value creation & contracting for novel medical technologies.

​He has been at the forefront of bringing precision medicine innovations to market, including cell free fetal (cff) DNA based NIPT, cancer testing utilizing full genome sequencing & proteomic analysis of solid organ tumors, &, most recently, for a proteomics-based preterm birth risk stratification test. Darron has been called both a market access innovator & visionary by prior clients.

​As a published author, & through his experience leading health economic value creation initiatives, Darron has a comprehensive understanding of the value an offering can provide, beyond clinical utility. Darron is passionate about evidence-based, value-driven approaches to stakeholder engagement & commercial success.

Lead Engineer

Cameron Breze

Cameron Breze, an accomplished engineer, product manager, and data scientist, is renowned for his expertise in Health Information Technology (HIT), particularly in FHIR & CDS. With proficiency in tools like Python, R, and MATLAB, Cameron has spearheaded pioneering healthcare solutions, enhancing clinical decision-making, patient outcomes, and advancing the frontiers of medical science. His depth of experience, showcased at Ariel Precision Medicine, embodies roles ranging from product management to R&D, where he guided the integration of advanced tools and engaged with key opinion leaders to facilitate institutional buy-ins at premier academic medical centers.​

Cameron's role at McDevitt Lab at New York University saw him leading a talented group, automating aspects of the literature review process and adapting swiftly to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic by shifting focus to biomarker characterization. Beyond his technical prowess, Cameron's passion extends to mentoring - a trait evident in his dedication to innovation.

Jeff Branagh

Jeff, serving as a strategic advisor & advocate  to DREAM BIG™ for Adolescents, is a seasoned healthcare technology executive boasting over two decades of influential work in the HIT industry. His comprehensive experience spans across distinguished companies including but not limited to  Aetna, McKesson, & Capgemini, where he demonstrated exceptional aptitude in handling operations, technology, & compliance issues.

In his career, Jeff has showcased his passion for behavioral health, mental wellness, care management, & patient-centered solutions, further honing his expertise in these vital areas. His current endeavors as the founder of BrainEgg Consulting involve providing strategic  advisory services, as well as fractional CPO & CTO consulting to companies at varying growth stages.

With a decade-long record of facilitating startup expansion through strategic investments, acquisitions, alliances, & partnerships, Jeff exhibits a proven acumen for corporate growth & technological innovation.

Clinical Advisor

Merav Segall, LMFT

Merav Segall, a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, is renowned for her comprehensive clinical training from the University of San Diego & UCSD's Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Services. She is passionately committed to proactively identifying children at risk, continuously working to ensure they don't slip through the systemic cracks.

Merav is recognized for her specialization in  developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions, aiding children & adolescents in managing a broad spectrum of issues encompassing anxiety, depression, mutism, behavioral problems, sibling rivalry, family separation, grief & loss, medical trauma, adoption complexities, traumatic experiences, self-harm, & attachment disorders.

Her expertise extends to family therapy, where she excels at deciphering children's emotional cues & actions. Merav's comprehensive & innovative therapeutic approach, combined with her substantial clinical experience, delivers a uniquely compassionate & transformative therapeutic experience for families.

Clinical Advisor

Brett Johnson, MD

Dedicated & highly experienced in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Johnson is a passionate with a deep commitment to improving the mental health & well-being of all individuals. After medical school at Vanderbilt, he completed an Internal Medicine internship, psychiatry residency, & child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of CA. Dr. Johnson is certified in both adult & child/adolescent psychiatry. His career includes providing treatment at various levels of care, crisis stabilization, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, & inpatient settings. His areas of interest include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, crisis & emergency assessments, & the interface of medical & psychiatric conditions. Dr. Johnson has expertise in complex medication management as well as evidenced-based psychotherapies, including C, Exposure & Response Prevention, Interoceptive Exposures, & Habit Reversal Training. His background, which includes service in community mental health clinics, correctional settings, & auditing complex health care settings, reflects a commitment to the mental health of diverse populations.

Medical Director

Charles Stemple, DO

Dr. Charles Stemple, DO, is the Former Sr. Medical Director & Vice President of the Health Guidance Organization at Humana. His impressive career trajectory spans an incredible 42 years, starting with his foundational role as an emergency department physician. This experience offered him a unique perspective and invaluable clinical insights, which he seamlessly integrated into his subsequent leadership roles in managed care, accumulating over 25 years in this specialized domain.​

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Stemple has been recognized for his expertise and his ability to lead diverse medical initiatives. His professional endeavors have covered the breadth of rigorous drug evaluations, the development of advanced disease management strategies, comprehensive case management, and the strategic oversight of utilization management (UM).​

Dr. Stemple's commitment to advancing healthcare is evident in his pioneering efforts to drive innovation. He played a pivotal role in leading a team focused on refining and implementing cutting-edge automation for prior authorization review. This initiative not only streamlined processes but also generated significant insights into the effectiveness of physician programs, leading to enhanced physician engagement and improved patient outcomes.

Health Economist

Ana Paula Beck

Ana is passionate for inspiring people for scientific education and works for a more effective and sustainable health care system. In addition to her position as Research Associate at Avant-garde Health (Boston, USA), she serves as Professor in the Graduate Program in Epidemiology at UFRGS and in the School of Technology at the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Senior Researcher at the National Institute for Health Technology Assessment (IATS), and a Partner from consulting firms (PEV and Way2Value, in Brazil and Portugal, respectively). ​

In all her affiliations, she dedicates her career to turning health care costs more transparent and implementing value-based healthcare principles in health care organizations and systems. Motivated by that, Ana founded the TDABC in Healthcare Consortium and has performed dozens of TDABC and health care management research and consulting projects in Brazil, Portugal, and USA. She is continually researching and working to engage more people on the cause to improve the efficiency of health care systems worldwide.

Ana is Ph.D in industrial engineer at UFRGS, in collaboration with Stanford Medicine, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at UFRGS in collaboration with the Brigham Women’s Hospital. She also attended the VBHC Seminary at Harvard Business School, and now is attending the Effective Writing Certification Program at Harvard Medical School. 

Ana has an impressive portfolio as an academic and researcher. She has penned a remarkable total of 121 publications, all of which focus on the intricate fields of Health Economics, Value-based Care, and Value Creation which can be found in NEJM Catalyst, Value in Healthcare and many more

Clinical Research Coordinator

Elizabeth Lusardi

Elizabeth is a public health clinical research coordinator based in Pittsburgh PA. She is passionate about improving access to high-quality healthcare and finding creative and effective ways to spread useful knowledge regarding healthcare resources to the public.
As a clinical research coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh, she supports faculty members within the department of epidemiology with research-related activities. Her main duties involve supporting research projects related to improving maternal health outcomes within the state of Pennsylvania through community outreach, focus group coordination, recruitment strategy, and creating comprehensive ways to explain policy information to community members.
Prior to working as a clinical research coordinator, Elizabeth worked in a variety of fields including, healthcare, research and graphic design communications. She worked as a Care Manager at the University of Pittsburgh COVID clinic, a Patient Care Technician at UPMC, a Marketing Associate at the Career Development office, an Undergraduate Research Assistant, and an immersive media studio assistant at Chatham University.
Elizabeth graduated from Chatham University with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Graphic Design. During her time at Chatham, she was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in Costa Rica, where she studied Spanish and Holistic Health. Additionally, she presented her undergraduate research findings on human biomechanics at the annual American Association of Biological Anthropologists conference in 2022 and is coauthor on the study’s publication.

Walda Alit

Walida Ali boasts a comprehensive academic foundation, having achieved both her Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Science with a minor in Applied Math in 2020 and subsequently her Master of Science in Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship in 2022, both from the esteemed NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Beyond her robust academic credentials, Walida's professional trajectory reflects her versatile experience spanning the biopharma, medtech, and digital health sectors.​

In her dynamic career, she has meticulously managed all facets of business development for Envisagenics, an AI-driven biotech company, focusing on fostering meaningful partnerships and overseeing marketing efforts. Additionally, as part of the Academic Venture Exchange, Walida has adeptly vetted and liaised with university biotech startups, ensuring the seamless transition of scientific research into entrepreneurial ventures. Her commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship further shines through her active participation in the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps Program's New England edition.​

Across her affiliations, Walida has demonstrated her dedication to blending the intricacies of scientific research with the business strategy, ensuring that groundbreaking scientific advancements are aptly positioned for market success and broader societal impact.
